Cropping Options

• Crop to Picture: Focuses on the main image area, eliminating peripheral elements. This option is most often selected for scanning old home movies.

• Partial Perforation/Sprocket Hole: This cropped view eliminates edge markings and a portion of the perforation/sprocket hole, but still allows for the capture to give off that “vintage film style”. Often selected because it is the best of both worlds with cropping and aesthetic appeal.

• Full Perforation/Sprocket Hole: This view incorporates the entirety of the perforation/sprocket hole so that some edge markings are available, but it does not include the edges of other frames above or below. Often selected for its artistic appeal.

• Full Image Overscan: Provides the largest view available, incorporating perforations/sprocket holes, edge markings, top and bottom of the other frames, and other peripheral artifacts. This is often selected when the customer wants every single element of the film capture.
